Covid 19 Regulation Restrictions 2020

Gate Inn Calendar 2020 Posted on Sun, November 01, 2020 12:26:54

In order to comply with the spirit of the current Government COVID 19 Regulations and erring in the side of customer safety we have been closed for the last couple of days with the possibility of re-opening on Tuesday 3rd November. However in the light of a full country wide lockdown being implemented from Thursday 5th November we have made the decision to remain closed.

We will re-open as soon as we can in line with future government regulations.

We sincerely hope that you all keep safe and well throughout the period of national lockdown and we look forward to seeing you all as soon as permissible. You can be assured of a warm welcome at the Gate Inn.

Best wishes,

Andrew & Kay.

Opening of the Gate Inn

Gate Inn Calendar 2020 Posted on Mon, July 13, 2020 10:53:26

We have decided to re-open the Gate Inn after putting in place measures to ensure that, as far as is reasonably possible, we will comply with the Government Covid 19 guidelines in the best interest of all. However there is only so much that we can do, as success depends on the co-operation and sensibility of our customers.

It will be a requirement that all customers comply with the measurers in place. Please remember that all patrons of the Gate are there by invitation of the licensee and can be asked to leave at any time and not return. The licensee’s decision is final; there is no appeal process.

Since lockdown commenced it has been difficult for everyone, so now as things start to ease let’s all try and work together to encourage a continued spirit of co-operation to beat the virus on the long road to normality.

It will be so nice to see you all again.

Re-Opening of the Gate Inn

Gate Inn Calendar 2020, Gate Inn Calendar 2021 Posted on Fri, July 03, 2020 20:39:04

After a great deal of thought and consideration for our many regular
customers, friends and community we have made the decision not
to re-open tomorrow Saturday 4th July 2020. We do realise that many of you will be disappointed, so are we, but we must act in the best long term interest of everyone.

The situation will be reviewed daily and we will open as soon it is considered safe and sensible to do so. We look forward to seeing you again at the earliest opportunity.

This post will be updated on a regular basis.

Thank you for your patience.

Stay safe.

Walk Sunday 15th March 2020

Gate Inn Calendar 2020 Posted on Thu, March 05, 2020 09:45:33

Meet on the car part at 10.00am for a 7 mile walk via Doe Lane, Bradley’s Farm, Litfield, Plumbley, Mosborough & Bridle Stile.

Refreshment stop at the Ridgeway Arms then continue up Bridle Stile to High Lane, down Ridgeway Moor (optional stop at the Swan) to Ford.

We then follow our usual route back to the Gate Inn vian Geer Lane, Birley Hay, Fold Farm & Main Road. ETA 1.30pm.

Given the amount of rain in recent months this route has been selected as the majority of the walk will be reasonable under foot as we are on bridle paths.

All welcome.

Bob Simpson

Next Gate Inn Walk Sunday 15th March 2020

Gate Inn Calendar 2020, Uncategorised Posted on Sun, February 09, 2020 11:46:06

As the storm rages and the rain pelts the windows in our house I thought it may be nice to cast our minds to the start of Spring!

We are proposing the have our next walk on Sunday the 15th March 2020.

After the long wet spell the Moss Valley is starting to dry out under foot. I walked in the valley yesterday and it was reasonable on the main tracks in most places. There are still parts which are very muddy indeed. I will keep checking on conditions.

A favourite spot for a welcome pint

Our walk will probably be via Fold Farm, Mill Dams, Bramley, Eckington Woods, Bolehill, Middle Handley & Buttersick Farm to the Travellers at Apperknowle. Returning to the Gate via ‘Red Lane’ skirting the airfield.

More information to follow as conditions hopefully improve.

Cheers ~ Bob Simpson.
